A total of 3,921 men in the study completed the study, and 3,922 men in the study did not have a prescription for Viagra.
The men in the study were prescribed Viagra as an erectile dysfunction treatment based on the drug’s efficacy, safety and effectiveness in patients with a history of heart disease, stroke, diabetes and other cardiovascular diseases.
“Viagra is a well-established and well-tolerated medication for the treatment of erectile dysfunction,” Smith said.
“It is important that men who have a history of heart disease, diabetes and other cardiovascular diseases receive adequate treatment.”
The study was conducted at the University of Washington, Seattle, and was approved by the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) institutional review board.
